On this episode of Wax On we are breaking a 2008 Upper Deck Football Draft Edition Blaster Box.
On draft day I got into the football spirit and went to the local big box store to get some cards. I ended up with a blaster box of Upper Deck Draft Edition.
This set is all about the rookie class of 2008, with some veterans sprinkled in for good measure. The base set consists of 250 cards; 100 rookies, 100 veterans, and 5 - 10 card subsets: Alumni Association, Pigskin Pairings, Conference Clashes, Campus Combos, and Franchise Foundations.
The base set rookies and all of the sub sets have six different parallel sets: Red, Blue, Black, Silver, Gold, and Platinum.
To top it off, there is a load of autograph options for this set. Each of the rookie base cards come in an autographed form. The colored parallel cards also come in sequentially numbered autograph form: Red numbered to 125, Blue numbered to 75, Black numbered to 50, Gold numbered to 25, and rare Platinum 1 of 1 cards.
Each of the subsets come in sequentially numbered autographed versions too. Base cards numbered to 25, Gold numbered to 10, and rare Platinum 1 of 1 cards. Note that all of the subset autographs are dual autographs.
In my blaster I received a stack of rookies and veterans, plus a few of the subset cards. A couple of them were colored parallels. The most exciting card in the stack was a Darren McFadden base set card. That was it, nothing too exciting. |
